SEI grant info

What Technologies are Eligible?
The grants will be provided to householders who invest in renewable energy based heating systems under the following categories:

Solar heating - for space heating and/or hot water

Heat pump - horizontal collector, vertical collector, well water or air source

Wood Chip or Pellet stoves – with or without integral boiler

Wood Chip or Pellet boilers

NOTE: Product must be listed, at the date of application, on SEI’s list of conforming equipment (available on request or online)

What Level of Funding is Available?

Solar Thermal Space and or Hot water heating €300 per m2(to max. 12 m2 )
Heat Pump - Horizontal ground collector €4,300
Heat Pump - Vertical ground collector €6,500
Heat Pump - Water (well) to water €4,300
Heat Pump - Air source €4,000
Wood Chip/Pellet Stove €1,100
iomass / Wood pellet Stove with integral boiler €1,800
Wood Chip/Pellet Boiler €4,200

It may be possible to apply for a second grant where the combination of technologies makes sense in terms of reduced overall CO2 intensity, capital costs, value for money and operating service.

Two grants are available for the following combination of technologies:

  • Wood Chip or Pellet Stove with Integral Boiler and Solar Space Heating (to a maximum collector area of 12 m2)
  • Wood Chip or Pellet Stove for room heating and Solar Hot Water Heating (to a maximum collector area of 6m2)
  • Heat Pump and Solar Hot Water (to a maximum collector area of 6m2)
  • Wood Chip or Pellet Boiler and Solar Hot Water (to a maximum collector area of 6m2)
These combinations will be eligible for two grants; however applicants should note that the use of such combinations requires careful engineering and integration of control systems to ensure that environmental benefits are achieved. Where an applicant wishes to get grant support for such permitted combinations a separate application must be made for each product.
